In this post, I would like to share a simple way of drawing a bird. In the past, I always found drawing birds difficult. Now, I have worked out a systematic way of drawing them that makes them look ok.
This is the bird we will be drawing
Draw two circles adjacent to each other.
Outline the two circles into a body and add a curved line for the start of the wing
From the base of the head, draw a curved line to finish the wing
Add a tail
Draw the branch on which the bird sits
Add a beak on the head and a claw on the branch
Add detail such as an eye, crest, shading, feathers and thicken the branch.
Since you have done all the work, at this point, you might like to take a photo of your drawing and upload it to your computer to save it to add to tags, cards, or make a logo for yourself.
In my drawing, I added some watercolour background with a blue watercolour pencil and I used a grey watercolour pencil which blended the shading when I brushed over it.
